Not much, either option can be argued as a positive or a negative depending on who you talk to. My build I just got lazy and left it as wood. Works fine. Painting looks good if done correctly, carpet is easy and looks factory when matched right.

i carpet the ones i build for freinds but paint looks good aswell if done right
