Alright guys I'm new here and i would love some help.

i know I'm not very knowledgeable on this stuff but i really want to learn.

i have a CVX 12 that's been down-firing in 1.2 box in my truck for quite some time, it got the highs good but not really the lows.but now I'm in my car and i want to build a ported box for it and was wondering what approach i should take. i looked at the free box designs and the dealer in my town recommended about 1.8-2.1 for the deep sound i was looking for.

i saw a design for 1.75 on the free box design

and was wondering if that would work good.

please help, if u have any other suggestions please feel free to comment.

i love the lows. they make bass all worth it. will 1.75 cu ft with a 32hz tuned port still hit highs or no? ive never built a box before except for sealed. this is my first attempt so I'm a need some help ha. and why would you say 2cu ft? For the lows?

It depends on how high you expect the box to play. There's no real need to cross your sub higher than 80hz, and you can make pretty much any sub extend that high in a ported box. I'd suggest 2ft^3 tuned to 33-34hz for your CVX.

Thanks for the help guys:)

i ended up building it to 1.83

tuned to 33.2 hz and i put a solo L7 10 in it.

it sounds amazing

thanks guys
