1 amp tweets..1 amp mids...???

What is the type of wiring configuration that is required if you basically want to power the tweeters on 1 amp and the mids on another????

Do you need a seperate Crossover????

How is the signal from the H/u handled??????

BASICALLY

I have 3 arc 2050 amps and I am searching for SQ.....Using just 1 amplifier to power the components seems too little for me (70X2 4ohms) the guy I purchased the amps from got second place in SQ at the World finals...he had one amp on a sub...and 1 amp for tweets and another for mids...I would love to replicate his basic set up but am unaware of how he did it or what "unforseen" issues arise when running 1 amp per speaker...any advice???

if the amps have active xovers that go up to 3.5 k for the tweeters i dont see why you cant use it that way without getting another xover. (might need to be xover higher depending on tweets) from what i see of the new it can xover up to 5.5k so maybe yours can too. in that application though i like 18 or 24 db xover slopes (or multiples there of) usually has better phase shift control.

crossover is 50Hz to 5.5hz...but again I am an idiot on this configuration...explain to me how this would all potentialy be wired from the H/u to amp to the tweets/Mids????

I am totally lost on the signal seperation from the H/U to the Amp and ultimately to the speakers for ultimate SQ and accurate high and mid distribution to each as opposed to the basic set up of the amp to crossover then to seperates.....

What if I use the front rca's for tweets and rear RCA's for mids?????

obviously I could trake this topic to an expert at the shop..but in my head I cannot give myself an answer as to how this scenario could possibly be wired yet I know many big time SQ guys go this route with thier amp power

yup you can do that basicly headunit to amp via rca then to the speakers. i ran an idx 24 crossover on my set up but dependant on how much you wanna spend will dictate what you will run but running it outright like you are thinking is acceptable just make sure the amps crossovers are set right and run the propper coil to cut off the midrange from getting too high. sometimes its not needed but other times a mid sounds like mokey butt when it goes an octive or 2 over what it is ment to play
