I **** at math and mis-multiplied the cost per yard...

Yes, it comes from Lowes, but it IS an aluminum-backed closed-call foam in a 1/8" thickness that is self-adhesive. I looked it over, and it seems pretty good. I am looking for the opinion of others on this site. I know from my construction experience that when properly applied, it WILL stick to condensation-covered ductwork (assuming that it is applied while everything is DRY). You will need to use HVAC tape to tape together the 12"-wide sections, but it is cheap and available locally.

That works out to $9.00/yd (+ tax but no shipping). Not bad for a foam barrier- with an aluminum outer skin. I searched and found little about it. I see that some people have used it, but I see no remarks about how it works, one way or the other.

Thoughts?

i used it for the rear deck and it works great for that, I then tried to use it for my doors on my malibu.................didnt work so well cuz the malibu boors are plastic and it didnt stick so well to that, but if you have metal doors, then go for it cuz it is honestly some pretty good stuff. just make sure you apply it right. Also used it for my trunk lid and it worked awesome there! I suggest mainly for trunk lid and rear deck, but then again, I dont have metal doors, so go for it.

Nice. I want to use it on the firewall, doors, trunk lid, and floor, and I plan to secure it with aluminum HVAC tape as well. I suppose it cannot hurt...

I'll put it on the doors first. If it stays there, I should be set.

yeah its pretty nice, I just didnt want to spend a dollar per foot on it. I found some stuff at gordon lumber supply thats called MFM window wrap and it is thin, but does its job well. its only 15 bucks for 35 ft^2...................so thats what Ive been using.

I want to be clear here- this is NOT to be used as a mass-loaded deadener...this is as a barrier membrane.

Think of this like ensolite, not RAAMmat. Peel & Seal= mass-loading.
