1/2" mdf in a supra...limited space

I was reading some threads on using 1/2" mdf. The most net airspace i can get with my current setup in a 95 supra is .48 using 3/4" mdf. I am installing 1 rl-i8 sub pushing 400 rms into it sealed enclosure. Does this sub qualify for the use of 1/2" mdf so i can grab a few extra points of airspace?

You should be fine. You could even brace it just a little and be even better but I seriously doubt it will flex much.

Could always resin the inside of the box.
