1 18 with 4K or 2 18s with 4k???

whats my pros and cons with this? i 18 BTL with a 4k amp and i can make a box thats up to 12cubes or 2 18 BTL with a 4k amp and put them in a 12 cube box...tuned around 28-30 for lows. is the one 18 gonna do more since more power or what?

I think the rule is double power = +3dB and double cone area = +3dB. I'm not 100% sure on this though.

So 1 18 with 4kw would be the same as 2 18s with 2kw a piece. But I wouldn't feed a BTL 4kw daily, so I say 2 18s with 2kw a piece in 12 cubes net.

if you go with 2 there is less chance youll blow them less output from each but more surface area

2k isn't enough for a 18" BTL

4krms doesnt work for most people in daily applications.... Trust me.

i havent hooked it up yet, but that thing is heavy as H*ll man. i like it alot. im going home tonight and gonna throw my 18s in hopefully all goes well and and they wang!!!! can not wait

Honestly Id run a different sub that will do better off of 2k each, but the BTLs will do fine with that much.

hope your electrical is up to par

your gonna need a couple batteries minimum (including your HO alt) to keep up with a true 4k watts.

I would do the 2 BTLs over the single one, just because 4kw is alot for1 sub, i dont care what it is, and BTL will handle it but it only takes 1 stupid thing to f*** something up with 4kw,

but 2kw per BTL will be a limiting factor, they will get loud, but not to their potential

and deff need a good size electrical

just asking but why do you want to tune to 28hz?

Id look to 2k each on a pair of subs. No reason to spend like most do for that either... Standard 2 magnet version with pole chamfer will be plenty and save you a good deal of $$$ over a fully loaded sub.

just make sure you have a nice amp that will run them...and a good electrical system
