1 18" Q vs 2 18" MJ's

well what do you guys think

right now i have:

an 18" Q in 6.5 cubes tuned to 32 htz with 1000 watts

the change would be to:

two MJ18's with 400 watts a piece to them

id try to get as close as i could to 9 cubes ported tuned to 30 htz...

What is your goal?

 

The Q is an excellent driver. The MJ's would have the cone advantage, but I have not heard MJs in that big of a box.

Personally I think I would stick with the Q. The only advantage the MJ subs over the Q is cone area, but with the lacking power they probably wouldn't even be as loud. And I doubt they would sound any better than a Q either.

well ive done some thinking and im really liking the idea of 2 MJ 18's in 7 cubes sealed with maybe 400 watts a piece going to them...for some reason i cant get over the vision of 2 18" subs in the back of my jeep...

thoughts?

why not 2 SSD 18s. will be louder than the MJs an still have the "i have 2 18s" thing to say to people.

if you got the room, go ported man. I'm putting mine into an 11.7 cube box gross, around 10.2 after displacement and bracing. Tuned to 45 hz because I wanna see if the MJs got some SPL in em.
