1 15in 800 watt sub out perform 2 12in 400 watt subs click for details

I have two polk momos MM2124 12in both getting their max RMS of 400 in poorly made sealed boxes. However I was wondering if before I either buy new boxes or build them out of the proper wood, would 1 15in any decent brand with 800 watt RMS out perform them sealed or ported I'm undecided. Or would the polks in a ported box out perform the 15. The only reason I haven't done ported yet is because I'm worried about SQ and they are recommended to be in a small sealed box of .88 cu ft

yes...a Si Mag D2 should outperform those very easily

SQ is my main concern.....so any recommendations on sub and box type please....or if its worth just putting my polks in a different box
