1 15" or 2 10" dilemma

Well, turns out I have to downgrade the system I was putting together due to the tiny alternator in my car, so 1000-1200rms is all Im going to be able to safely run.

I'm looking at between:

1 15" Power Acoustik Mofo (1600rms I wanna say, but wont get full power)

or

2 10" Punch HX2's (500rms each)

Either way they'll be ran off a Hifonics 1200 watt monoblock receiving 600rms each (not counting the hifonics over-rate so we'll say about 550 per sub to the HX2's or 1100 to the Mofo.

Really looking for SQL. More on SPL side.

Which will....get louder? sound better?

Both cost around the same, both will be put into ported enclosures.

If you've got the room, assuming equal installs and the boxes are ported

The MOFO will be louder, probably not by gobs but still louder, but in my honest opinion will sound like shit, I hate the way the subs sound

Punches = SQL for you, but why not consider an AudioQue 15 or a 15" SI Mag or even a FI Q series 15? I assume money

For what you're looking to spend, according to what I see, there are still better choices

Give use a price range and get a few suggestions on SQL drivers, eh?

I vote punches out of the two, btw
