1 15" HDC3 vs 2 12" type-arghs

Which one would get the loudest of 1800-2000w @ 1ohm. I would put the AQ in a 4.5 cube @ 38hz and the type-rs in a 4.5 cube @ 33hz.

neither of those subs are "SQ"

if you want "sq", neither of those are good options, but if i had to do one of them, i would use the type R's and tune them LOW, like ~26-30hz.

ive got and HDC315, tuned to 38.5 and 4.6 cubes, not a ton of SQ, but it will take the power a lot better than the arrgghghhhhhhs

Only reason l7's sound bad is because they are usually tuned to 40hz, same as most of the other SPL DD'ing subs around here.

Forget about SQ I'm not really focused on it, I just don't want it to be garbage. I know what both sound like as I've owned both. Just need to know which one I can get louder.

type R's will get LOUD meter wise on that kinda power, but that is in a competition situation

for a daily setup, definitely the HDC3

I had a type-r on 900w for 3/4 of a year before i sold it and is still going. So they should be able to take 1800w

okay, dont listen to me, i've only had 10+ setups with type-R's.

get them instead of the HDC3, i lied to you, HDC3 sucks.
