1 12" or 2 12"

I can't make my mind up on either 1 12" sundown x off a sundown 1500d amp in a 2.5 net cubic feet box tuned to 32 hertz with 40 sq inport area. Or 2 12 sundown sa off a sundown 1500d in a 3.5 net cubic feet box tuned to 34 hertz with 46.5 Sq in port area. For a single 12 x what's a good amount of port area?

What is the main difference I'll see other than 2 12s will be louder. Is there any benefit one over the other? Which would you do??

I would think that if you're running the same power, the 2 sa 12's would be better. Cone area + driving power is what comes to my mind.

If space isnt a concern then certainly go with the 2 12s in a very nicely built box. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

you can add another one later. I'd go with the two SA 12s over the single X 12 any day.
I was thinking that too. 2 sundown sa over the single x.

On a side note is my box good for 2 12 sa. It's 3.5 cubes net tuned to 34 hertz with 46.5 port area.

And how much port area would a single 12 sundown x need?

if its true to spec then that box would be fine. Roughly the same, slightly more since it should have more displacement.

Can anyone chime in and let me know of the box for sundown x 15 will work or is it too small?

Is there any pro/cons running the 12 sundown x over the 2 12 sundown sa

not gonna be anywhere near as loud as the two SA 12s, need a lot of power to get loud aka not efficient as the SAs, upper midbass blend isnt good. Other than you having more trunk space and future possible upgrade, the SA 12s are better in every way possible because the output is a lot more, you'll even get better low end vs the single 12 purely from increased overall output. The SA 12s dont need that much airspace either, they can work fine with 1.75 cubes each while the X series might like more airspace because of the amount of power you feed them.

X 15 is a viable option though. wont be as loud but should hit as low, a bigger box would be better though because of how much power you are running.

Yeah I dont think I can fit a x 15. I have a box thats made already thats 3.5 cubes net tuned to 34 hertz with 46.5 sq in of port area. Will be running off a Sundown 1500D. The X 12 would be run off a sundown 1500D in a 2.5 net cubic feet box tuned to 32 hertz with 40-45sq in of port area.

The only good thing going with the X 12 is that it will probably kill it on the lows but the SA's will beat it in every other way?
