ok so im going to be getting 50ft of 1/0 wire soon hopefully, but i need to know how to run it in my car.

im only going to be able to run 3 lengths total, so ill only put it 2 for now. but my question is, would it be more beneficial to run 2 lengths of positive and ground the amp to the chasis or one length for each?

also, ill be running a XX-Hercules

and SPLPimpin suggested this to me on ROE:

2 positive amp to batt

1 negative amp to batt

1 negative amp to frame

1 negative frame to batt

i have two runs of power, one run from the batt to the amp for neg. bat is grounded to the frame. chasis is grounded to the frame. engine is grounded to the frame. this way evey thing ends up being grounded to the frame in a common place.

I'd personally make it a priority to do this:

Big3:

Alternator to battery positive

Battery negative to chassis ground

Battery negative to engine block ground

Battery positive to rear for amps.

Ground in rear for amps.

Then once that is done, if there's enough left... do a second run of 1/0 to the rear...

nGs

yea ive already done the big 3 so i have the 50ft spool just for my amp, but i was wondering if i did two runs of pos, one run of neg, and one from amp to chasis, does it really matter that there may be extra resistance with the ground since one will be through the unibody chasis.

thanks for the replys

but thats the thing, the chasis has more resistance, thats why youll see SPL vehicles with 5 runs of both pos and neg, because the length of 1/0 wire has less resistance than the actual chasis.

so having 3 runs just for the 12v would be almost pointless because ill still only have a ground thats equivilant to about 4gauge, and the electrical is basicaly only as good as the weakest link.
