There is a big hubub over that basket design, but I believe TC does currently own the patent for it (I'll have to look up the patent #, I saw it in a post somewhere). At the very least, Ground Zero would now have to be licensing it from TC.

Big deal if they own a patent, all they have to do is change the smallest detail in the casting and you can get around the patent.

Do you not understand that TC sounds is a large OEM Buildhouse.
They have built Eclipses subs for YEARS. At one point in time, they also built subs for eD, Oz Audio, etc, etc, etc...

Maybe you should be more informed before you open your mouth.

Well something is off here...

Regarding the choice on 4-spoke Eclipse basket. I'm not sure who is supplying them to you, but we designed that basket in 2001 and we have a 14 year patent on it. I'll be happy to give you the patent # if you like, but the problem is that this is not a "generic" basket. We paid over $20,000 to have the tool made and we really don't like it when other people use our baskets and make it seem generic. Eclipse, one of our bigger customers and they hold a license for this basket. They are the only company by contract who gets the rights to use this basket for car audio, and we supply them. We legally can not allow anyone to use this frame, or the 6-spoke 15" and 18" for that matter.

Thank you for understanding. If could please tell me who supplies you with the frame, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm not biting anyone... More like TC sounds needs to know that someone is using their basket w/o licensing...

They wouldn't be licensing it to them when only TC and Eclipse can use that frame as far as I can gather... If they are freely licensing that frame I'm sure they would have loved to sell a batch of them to us after all...
