05 xxx 12" & 2500d eat it up or be careful?

be careful. my 05 xxx 18 would take my kicker @ 1 ohm, but it would get stinky after a couple minutes.

I would just set your gains to 2000. My XXX would get slightly warm off of 1800, but always best to be a little careful.

Be careful, definitely. Just turn your gains down and call it headroom like everybody else.
