05 Mercury Mariner Amp Turn On

So my 05 mariner does not have An amp turn on wire. Is there another wire I can splice into for this?

Is it going to be necessary until I go to wire in an amp?

It is an older Pioneer deck. One of the fort to have on-board iPod integration. Do not have the model handy.

BUMP

I wired the Switched Power in w/ the amp turn-on. When I power off the vehicle, the deck stays powered on. It only shuts off if I manually shut it off.

I am not currently running an amp, so I have a splice taped off for it that is tapped into the power wire.

What am I doing wrong?

did you buy a wiring harness or are you just doing this the ghetto way? if you did how the hell did you mess that up?

Yeah, bought the harness all-right. Using crimp tubes. Definitely trying not to ghetto it!

Just cap off the amp turn on if you have no amp.

Yeah...realizing that now.

I was thinking I needed it to go to the vehicle power somewhere, since I'm used to having to hook it up on the other vehicles. I'm going to re-do it tonight and expect that is my problem.
