05 CVR 15 - *Pics and short review *56k warning

I'm not putting this in the review section because i've only owned the sub for a week now, but will move it when i get more time to play with.

This sub gets very loud and is quite underrated. 500 watts doesn't do it justice. Up around 1000 watts gets it moving well but can take more for short periods of time. Daily anywhere from 700-1000 seems to be fine.

In a 4 cube, 35hz box it seems to get very deep and loud. Lil john type bass is very loud. However, it has trouble keeping up with rock/ techno bass... (Which is the majority of what I listen to) The punchy bass is lacking. Hopefully a lower tuned, smaller box will help with that.

Averall, here is how I would rate it

SQ- 6 (great down low, lacks higher end output)

SPL- 9 (very loud off of little power)

Build Quality- 10 (handles double the rated power with relative ease)

Quality to Price Rating- 10 (very good bang for your buck)

Looks- 9 (Impressive looking for being rated at 500rms)

Nice setup man. I don't know if I'd give it a 1,000 watts though. They do get pretty loud off of little power and sound pretty good. No to mention they are cheap as hell. My buddy used to have a couple 12's and they kept bottoming out with a lot of power. And I've heard that is commen with the CVR's. He also went through a few boxes and he liked his CVR's in a sealed box the best. Just some food for thought!

i had mine in 3.5 and it liked it.. the top end wasnt even that bad.. so im thinking 2.5-3 a piece will sound pretty good.

i'm going to try tuning that box lower will drop the box size a bit. They recommend 3-5 cubes so i figured 4 would be fine

sounds good man, glad you like it.

if a sub is bottoming out, two things, either box is too large or pushing past mechanical limits.
