system design

I have a 2012 Silverado 1500 extended cab that I would eventually like to put a system in, however, I'm not a fan of shallow mount subs. I really like the Sundown x12 v3 d2 though. I see a lot of people running 4 8's under the back seats but I have never heard an 8 before. What are my options...
