Is 1.28^3 big enough for a port

1 12" Alpine type R in a 1.28^3 box with a 3" port 9.95" long. Will this work? This is all the space I have so I hope this will work. Right now I hate the bass that I have and someone suggested a ported box and I think it might help. My amp is also only putting out 150 watts RMS and this may be...

    A lot of rumble :(

My bass sucks! I have 1 Alpine type R 12" sub in a q-logic box sealed and an Alpine F357 5 channel amp. It is in the back of my x-cab truck. The bass sucks, it sounds like it rumbles to much. If I cross it over at 50 htz it sounds pretty good but obviously this leaves a huge gap it the music and...

    Lack of midbass sucks a@@......

I just got done installing my system . It sounds pretty good except the 6.5s I put in the door seem to have little midbass. They are mounted in the door in a set of custom 1/2" plexiglass adaptors. Should I have sealed or attempted to seal the door? Do I need to install some sound deadening...

What do you think of these speakers?

Comps = Separate Midbass driver and Tweeter Complete or Coaxial = Midbass driver with the tweeter mounted on top The comps will usually sound better. I have seen some comps that will allow you to mount the tweeter just like the coaxial type. I think these would sound ok but since tweeters are...

    The First System You Loved..

Denon HU, Nacamichi amps, comps and crossovers and M&M Godfather 15"s and 8"s It was unreal. After that my kraco never sounded the same.

    crossover settings

Well when I had 10s I set mine to about 80 or so. Of course personal preference is what really matters. If you set it to high your subs will sound terrible. Scott

    Crappiest car you've ever owned!

1977 Celica... It leaked so much water that when I removed the passenger side kick panel there was some sort of plant growing behind it. I have never seen a bigger POS then that car. It was 90% bondo and 10% rust:D Scott

    Use rear speakers or not????????

I will have the Alpine 6.5" in the doors, do you think that they will do pretty good with midbass or will they need some help? If I put some midbass drivers in the rear doors what size do you think? Do they make a 6" woofer?

    Use rear speakers or not????????

Should I put some rear speakers in the back doors of my truck or just use the Alpine comp set only? Maybe I should purchase some midbass drivers and put them in the back. Originally I was going to put a set of Alpine type R coax in the back but that doesn't seem to get alot of positive remarks...

    Box Question

Quick question, in the back of my Ranger xcab I am putting one 12 and was wondering if there is any benefit to pointing the speaker forward, backward or to the side? I know in cars most people turn the box backwards, so I was wondering if anyone has tested the different directions in trucks? BTW...

Is a subsonic filter a necessity for a sealed box?

Just a quick question, if I have 1 12" Alpine type R in a 1cf sealed box do I really need a subsonic filter on my amp? The reason I ask is because this limits the amps that I can purchase because I plan on using the built in crossover. BTW: My 740mp came in from Ike-sound yesterday and it was...
