Alpine Amp and 4ga Wire Problem

I actually wrote it wrong in the thread title.. it's an 8ga wire into a seeming 8ga hole. But as you can see, there's no way the wire will fit. I believe I need what's called a "terminal fork", seen here: http://www.mobilehomerepair.com/media/img/G31-955.jpg

Alpine Amp and 4ga Wire Problem

I'm switching out my Pioneer amplifier in my car for a more favorable Alpine amplifier. Problem being that the 8-gauge wire doesn't seem to have a fighting chance at connecting to the amp; the wire is simply way too big. How do I fix this? Cut the wire in half down the middle so it fits? How...

    Wattage Output from Bridged Channels

While I'm at it... what kind of enclosure do you recommend - ported or sealed? The 200w RMS @ 4ohms Pioneer that I used to have was in a sealed enclosure and wasn't very powerful at all. Only thing it shook was the rear license plate and I solved that problem with a couple strips of weather...

    Wattage Output from Bridged Channels

Thats one thing I noticed. So I should be looking for a 2 ohm dual voice cord subwoofer for a total of 4 ohms, rated around 500w RMS? I'll take a peek at the enclosures. Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. Sure learning a lot.

    Wattage Output from Bridged Channels

I asked the deadener question before I looked at the link. I have 18 sheets of 18x32 dynamat downstairs, got a sweet deal on eBay - brand new. The light dimming is my biggest concern. Granted I had the gain turned up higher than it should have been, it's still not pushing very much. I'll see...

    Wattage Output from Bridged Channels

Excellent, thanks. I like the Rockford sub because it comes in the enclosure and it's a ported sub. A friend of mine has dual P1's and he's had good luck with them. I'll look over everything you have here. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what is a deadener? The only issue I'm having...

    Wattage Output from Bridged Channels

I read an earlier thread, seen here: http://www.caraudio.com/forum/amplifiers/476372-bridging-my-jl-g4500.html The kid bridged his channels and apparently quadrupled his output on the 3rd and 4th speakers. Maybe I read that wrong. The Crescendo amplifier does the same thing. It's rated at 125w...

    Wattage Output from Bridged Channels

That would be perfect however the highest-end alpine speakers I can find are the Type-R's, rated at 110w RMS. Would that work? Do you have any another suggestion? Thanks a bunch. The Rockford subs I'm looking at are the Dual 12" P2L's... output 500w RMS @ 4 ohms. Perfect.

    Wattage Output from Bridged Channels

Im not bridging channels 1 and 2. I'll run the front left door speaker into channel 1 @ 100w RMS, the front right door speaker into channel 2 at 100w RMS. I'll bridge channels 3 and 4 and together i should be able to output 400w RMS @ 4 ohms to a sub, yes?

    Wattage Output from Bridged Channels

Forgive me as I'm not fluent with this car audio shenanigans. Here's what I'm proposing to do with my sound system: Install the Alpine PDX-4.100 4-Channel amplifier (seen here: Alpine PDX-4.100 4-Channel Power Density Digital Car Amplifier). I'm going to purchase a pair of Type-R's that rate...

    Hifonics Zeus ZXi60.4+1K 5-channel Amp

Done deal on the 1/0 gauge.. I found a sweet deal on Amazon. Instead of a stronger battery, do you think a 2.0 Farad capacitor would suffice? I'm not sure why everyone seems to hate caps. Thanks man.

Also, what kind of amp wiring kit would best fit this amplifier?

    Hifonics Zeus ZXi60.4+1K 5-channel Amp

I'm dead set on the Hifonics Zeus ZXi60.4+1K 5-channel amplifier for upgrading my new system. I'm not sure how much total power this thing pushes. The specs can be seen here: Audio Savings | HIFONICS ZEUS ZXI60.4+1K BEST 5 CHANNEL AMPLIFIER EVER! Should I get an upgraded car battery? How will...

    Amp for Rockford Subs

I was leaning towards the single P3L and a Pioneer amp that pushes 400w RMS @ 4ohms. I would rather the sub be a little underpowered to increase it's longevity, correct? My other option would be having two 12" P1L's rated at 300w RMS to go with a Rockford amp that pushes 320w RMS @ 4ohms. What...

    Amp for Rockford Subs

Hey guys. I've got two issues: 1) I'm looking for an amp to go with two 12" Rockford Fosgate P2L's. They're rated at 500w RMS x 1 CH @ 4ohms. 2) The single 12" Rockford Fosgate P3L is rated at 500w RMS x 1CH @ 4ohms too. Which subs do I go with? Thanks a bunch.
