Last steps of install = FAIL!?

SUCCESS!!!! I switched the RCA's for the sub into the 4ch rear speakers while playing a 60hz test tone and they got signal so that canceled out having bad rca's. Then I checked the voltage of the speaker wire (never could get a reading on the RCA's AC voltage) all the way back to the sub and it...

Last steps of install = FAIL!?

86toy - rca's and power are on the opposite side of the car. I tried testing the AC voltage on my RCA's but I can't get a reading on any of them (even though the front/rear speakers work). I am using the positive probe on the DMM to the post and the negative to the ring on the RCA but still...

Last steps of install = FAIL!?

this is the terminal i got/have - House Brand TERMINAL-SG - Box Terminals - Sonic Electronix I didn't solder the speaker wires when connecting them to the clips on the inside of the terminal, but they have a good connection. The speaker wire from the amp should be sending dc voltage to the sub...

Last steps of install = FAIL!?

I tested the sub with a 9v and it popped and moved out upon contact with the battery so its not the problem. I unplugged the rear speaker RCA's and plugged them into the mono amp with no sound. I then tried the sub RCA's in the 4ch amp and heard nothing. I dunno if this necessarily means its the...

Last steps of install = FAIL!?

All my wiring from the amp +/- terminals back to the voice coils are reading 16-19 ohms when measuring the resistance but its not fluctuating when bass hits. It is a brand new audioque 1200D so I just flat out don't get it. Any help is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!

Last steps of install = FAIL!?

I checked all my wires again and came out with no problems. Popped the sub out and both my voice coils are reading 1.9-2ohms after subtracting resistance just as they should, my speaker wires inside the box are secured and wired correctly. I flat out have no idea why I'm not getting sound!? WTF...

Last steps of install = FAIL!?

Update: I unscrewed the sub from the box and triple checked my wiring...Everything looks good, I was going to remove the wiring from the sub to check with the DMM but ran out of sunlight again. Can somebody tell me what wires I need to check with the DMM in order to find the problem? Sorry if...

Last steps of install = FAIL!?

I'm positive its wired in parallel. I checked the resistance on the speaker terminals and got 2 which is right from what I'm reading. Is there a way to check the RCA for signal? I double checked to make sure it was plugged into the HU and without taking it out I'm pretty sure the connections are...

Last steps of install = FAIL!?

haha, I was talking about the amp terminals. I didn't think it mattered but I am out of solutions. The SX is a dual 2 VC and I have it wired in parallel to the amp.

Last steps of install = FAIL!?

Alright! I have some good/bad news. I took a dremel/wirebrush to the sub-frame in the trunk and grounded both amps to it. Good news: It worked! Both amps power up and the 4ch powers the speakers perfectly just as before. Now the mono amp powers up just fine but the sub is not making a sound - :/...

Last steps of install = FAIL!?

SO, i went out today with a dmm and checked the voltages of all my wires. power wires are getting 13-14 volts all the way back to both amps. remote wires are also getting 12-14 to both amps. Then, i checked my grounds. both ground wires from each amp is only getting 8-10 volts. I did change the...

Last steps of install = FAIL!?

somebody recommended on these forums i have another fuse before going to the mono amp. i have a 150amp near my battery so maybe the 200amp is overkill? i'm not sure - i can't remember who recommended it to me. well, i ran out of daylight for the day so i'll have to get a DMM tomorrow (knew i...

the 1200D will only accept 4gauge wire. plus, it isn't very long from the dist block to the amp.

Last steps of install = FAIL!?

I had the components installed at a shop and they also ran the speaker wire/remote back with speedwire. I then had that split, with it going to each amp. I even tried just putting it back to original with the main wire going into the 4 ch amp and it still went into protect. I dont need any...
