ok all, ive checked the connections and they are all good. The problem is the same, periodically it cuts out completely only on one of four channels. when i set the fader to that side and crank the volume, it "pops" back on - not really with an audible pop, but its like something was 'stuck'...

how can i test that?

when i reverse the RCA's at the amp, it happens to the right side instead of the left side. wouldn't this eliminate the crossover / speaker as the problem? im assuming that the source, amp and wiring are potentially culprits.

never used - decided to just go with a head unit instead and picked up a JVC AVX33 yesterday. the cleansweep still has the plastic shrink wrap on it, never mounted, never wired. $200 shipped reference: Max_Power (sorry not too many references, new to the board)

its a 2002 escalade with the factory bose. i think its 11 speakers, the 11th being the sub in the rear quarter (not in the center console) a couple guys on the cadillac forums are using LOC harnesses to connect RCA to an external amp, but i dont know much about this - is this a viable...
