    Power switch wiring question

Next in my series of dumb questions: 2 amps, 1 under seat and one under center console about 18 inches away. Can I splice the two power signal wires by the amp and run a single wire to the head unit for power switch control? I promise not to use wire nuts. :)

Help Configuring Head Unit Vs. Sub Amp Crossover

Yes, that is good advice I intend to follow. I will be able to stage everything and hopefully test and adjust all the settings. There are a couple of unique aspects to this that I am working around. The body is on a rotisserie and I am trying to prewire as much as possible for the sound system...

Help Configuring Head Unit Vs. Sub Amp Crossover

Preface that I am very new to all of this. This is my first time building a sound system. This equipment is going into a Jeep Scrambler. My head unit is Kenwood Excelon KMM-X503 Sub Amp is Kicker 42PXA5001 Sub is Polk Audio DB 842 SVC I have attached the audio settings for the head unit and...

    Wire gauge discussion

250 to the sub and a second amp will push 100x4 to 5.25‘s and 200x2 to 6x9’s edit to clarify that I am running 4 different 5.25 speakers.

    Wire gauge discussion

That makes sense. Does distance matter? I have a marine amp with thin wire coming out of the connector. The distance from amp to speaker is like 18 inches of wire. Should I keep the same gauge between the dongle and the speaker or does it matter? I apologize if my questions are ignorant.

Distribution block location question when wiring 2 amps

I can’t help myself. I have to pull on this thread... What does separate amps powering separate speakers using the proper channel output for each speaker have to do with bridgeable amps? None of the channels are bridged to push more watts to a speaker or a sub. What does % of power...

    Wire gauge discussion

When It comes to speaker wire I have been under the assumption that bigger is better. I am confused by the gauge of most car audio systems and therefore I am not sure what to do. The connector for speakers into the back of head units and into marine amps has very thin wires. It looks like 16...

Distribution block location question when wiring 2 amps

I am not sure what "Bridgeable AMPS" means in my scenario, so I do not know. The AMP itself is 4Ohms and single voice coil but I do not know what that means in your question. My assumption was that by running seperate amps they would not be realted in overall power. That would be a matter of...

Distribution block location question when wiring 2 amps

This is certainly where my lack of experience comes in and I appreciate your input. What I was thinking was using this amp: https://store.crescendoaudio.com/symphony-s6-6-channel-amplifier/ The plan would be to route the front channel RCA from the head unit to channels 1-4 providing 100w per...

Distribution block location question when wiring 2 amps

I am wiring two amps in my jeep. AMP 1: 250 Watts RMS for single sub AMP 2: 800 Watts RMS for 6 speakers on 6 channel amp I know I need an inline fuse as close to the battery as possible and this will run on a 200A fuse on O gauge wire. I will enter a fused distribution box exiting on 4...
