well...the tuning is about 30-31hz...but 1/2"??? i hope you have a ton of bracing! that has to flex a lot! the vol and tuning seem ok, could use more port....maby the box flex is what's doing it?

i imagine that you have already double and triple checked the wiring...? it is kinda hard for any of us to say it's the box with out knowing the specs of it. can you measure the outside, then we can get the volume (assuming 3/4 mdf), and then pop out a sub and measure the port. we should be...

cascade audio makes a spray that works well.

i have always used elmer wood glue...the wood will break before the seem will split. as for sealing the speaker....window weather stripping (about 1/4" - 1/2" wide)...menards (you need to get the glue and mdf anyways)

not quite sure what you by having the port 55.2" "away" from the box. if you make them 55.2" long then you tuning freq. will be lowered. your at 27Hz the way it is...i wouldn't go much lower....try to keep them the same length....unless i'm missing you Q. why don't you just do a wide slot port...
