ok well from what i've read,the only way to make it work is to actually run new speaker wire to each speaker,and if i'm gonna bother with that,then i'm just gonna hook everything up to an amp! so what i'm asking is what will some aftermarket speakers sound like with the factory bose amp...

thanks for all the replys guys.i wouldn't be able to put a spacer on the box,as the speaker is gonna be pretty **** close to touching the back seat.i may try a few of the subs suggested to see what sounds best.i'll keep you guys in touch with what i put in and how it sounds.thanks guys! charles

sorry about that.the mounting depth for the subbox is 5.25".yea i know that the jl is only 150rms,but i figured my amp wouldn't make 300rms all the time so it should work perfect.the boston also sounds nice.i'd like to keep my price under $150. thanks for the reply. charles
