I've been on the hunt for an rli-8, but the search is looking bad so far. I've been told the epic 8 is very similar to the rli, is this true?

My sister in laws mom's computer got struck by lightning (lightning took out her dvd player, modem/router and laptop, she wants to know if it can be fixed. It's an HP G60-230US laptop, it won't turn on but if you plug it in (with battery in or out) you get a white light next to the charging port...

i thought dd's hated sealed? One of their reps at sema told me you loose approx 60% of their subs output when you go sealed? So what's different about the rli and epic 8? different parts? Motors?
