    Pioneer DEHP-5500-MP (2003 Model)

Hullo, This deck is on sale at a near-by business here in my town. $348 w/ installation. And, since I sold my 7200 for parts to build a second computer, I need a deck badly. It's been over a month of no tunage in my ride - and this deck seems the most appealing. New for 2003, it can also...

Comment by 'Tombo' in media 'The Cavalier'

The Cavalier I got a Red 4-dr Cav w/ 2001 Z24 rims. That's a tight car, I like the tint, I've got 20% all around myself. Throwing on a new spoiler (Neon SX 2.0) soon, and hopefully a tip. I was wondering what kind of speakers you're running. I'm looking at components for the front, but not...

    Component Speakers in 1996-1999 Cavalier

Oh and 1 other thing... I've got a set of base lights mounted under my dash, they look really sweet. They get power from the cigarette lighter. How would I go about wiring something so I wouldn't have the cigarette lighter used up by this? A friend mentioned attaching it to the back of the fuse...

    Component Speakers in 1996-1999 Cavalier

Oh and 1 other thing again... should I re-qire the speaker wires, or would Iit be best using the stock wiring that came with the car? What kind of advantages/disadvantages am I looking at? (If I re-wired, which size should I use: 14 gague or 16 gague?)

    Component Speakers in 1996-1999 Cavalier

Oh, and 1 other thing... the Pioneer speakers... the backs said 4 ohms. Whats that about? (I've got a rough idea.)

    Component Speakers in 1996-1999 Cavalier

I was wondering what size of component speakers would fit in the door panels of a 1999 Cavalier. It's a 4-door sedan, and the default speaker size is 4"x6". I found a nice set of plates that will convert the sizes, and even mount the mids at a bit of an upward angle, which is neat. I've seen it...

    Yellow Pioneer Speakers

Hullo, I just saw these mean speakers at a local audio store. Any reviews?

    Using an Amp for Speakers

Okay, now into the world of crossovers... My definition: it's that thing that takes the sound signal, breaks it up into it's 3 distinct parts, and distributes it accordingly to different types of speakers, correct? So, for component speakers... the "distribution block" that comes with the set...

    Using an Amp for Speakers

It would be something to consider, but the back of my Cav' wouldn't look the same without those speaker grills that seem to light up through my back window, when I hit the brake. (It's kinda neat. :P) Also, I do know that brands do not have to match... but I hear good things about Pioneers...

    Using an Amp for Speakers

Thank you Steve, I guess this means I'll be using a pair of amps, one for my speakers and one for my subs. Another quick query... they type of speakers doesn't matter with the amp, correct? I'm planning to get a pair of Pioneer 3-way 6x9's, then a pair of Pioneer component speakers, not sure...

    Using an Amp for Speakers

So you'd say, if money is avaliable, it's best to buy an amp to run the speakers off of, for cleaner power and better sound, than running the speakers right off the deck?

    MP3 Decks

    1. MP3 deck 2. Volume nob 3. Remote 4. Around $500 CDN 5. Quality sound 6. 2 preouts 7. Power doesn't matter much, I'll probably run all 4 speakers off 4-channel amp.

    Using an Amp for Speakers

What are the advantages compared to using a deck's built-in amp? (ie. 4x45 watts for a deck vs. an amp with 4 channels, 45 watts per channel.)

    MP3 Decks

I'm not planning to buy online, those listed decks are only ones avaliable in my area, that's the only reason why I linked them. Plus, the prices listed are in Canadian. :P I am, however, going to get a hold of some product catalogs, and see if I can order specific decks from whatever...
