Is there an impedance level on a head unit. Can I put 8 ohm house speakers in my car.. their max is only 100 so my amp would blow them. But my hu pushes 20 rms. So could that work?

another question--- what if i was to hook up home speakers, each are 8 ohms to a head unit that pushes 20 watt x 4. the max power for the home speakers are 100 watts

want to try something out, so bare with me, i know they are dumb question. 1- what happens if you go over rms watts by 50. like having an amp put out 200rms but speaker only handle 150 rms (scenario) 2- what happens if there is too much impedance on an amp? it would be a one time thing...

i have a pioneer that puts out 17 rms x 4, and then a jvc that puts out 20 rms x 4. and the difference is huge. the pioneer doesnt sound like its putting out 17, sounds worst then a stock with high quality speakers. just want to know if there i a way to tell if a head unit is broken andif so a...

yeah if i bought the good brand i only bought the scosche because its just an entry level amp and speaker set up ---that has peak max of 680 and rms max of 400.

okay correct if im wrong please--- the 8 gauge now only has 400 rms max, i already have the one amp pushing 50 rms to each speaker ( 100 total ), then the amp im lookin at pushes 250 rms per sub (500 total) so i need a gauge that can handle 600 rms? so i do need an upgrade in gauge??

isnt there an attachment out the that can split one power wire into four different ones? and what about the RCA cables

here in the next few months i want to get a another amp for a pair of subs, but my car already has one amp(2channel for speakers) in it. how do i go about adding that extra amp when i already have one power wire on the battery and the rca cables occupying the only set on the HU

got it all hooked up --correctly! for some strange reason the positive was in negative slot and vice versa. cant believe i did that but hey im new to this stuff.

your good- im positive you know much more than i do about this stuff, and no the weren't touching on the amp it went for positive-rem-ground, im probably an idiot for this, but do you have to use the wire terminals when attaching them to the amp? or can you just attach the wire straight up to...

the gain was all the way down and it never turned on, the fuse blew as soon as the car was turned on

got an amp today and installed pretty easily but i am having some trouble: 1-when i first turned on the car after hooking the amp all up, the fuse that was in it blew, so i want to know if i grounded it right? first they gave me the wire and o-ring thing but they weren't together, so i guess...

not much, i just want to know if i was to bridge a 2 chan amp for all 4 speakers would it use my HU amps at all? and what would the performance be like, budget is about 100 bucks
