    decreasing port size change sound?

I use the box simulator called "unibox" but it does not seam to show ny change in response. So how does efficiency change with port area? Is it just a db or two? Or would it be a large increase when port area is adjusted to say 1.5x the original?

    decreasing port size change sound?

I have a 4 cubic foot box tuned to 32, i was gonna change my system and build another box (i have much experience) tuned to 27 but i would like to save the money and keep this one. I have taken crapy ported boxed and simply decreased the port area by puting planks of wood along the inside of...

new box false floor db gain?

I do know about those Klipsh horns actualy! darn things sound incredible. I expect that moving the sub and port away from the corner will not help but I am hoping that cutting away the room around the box and bass potentially hitting the trunk will help take out areas in which bass will not be...

new box false floor db gain?

Do you have any idea about the change if box volume is increased? It puts less resistance on the sub so it should pe more efficient but i just dont know if it will be alot. Also i THINK i read somwhere that more port area will increase efficiency but i don't see how it would do anything but...

Amp reccomendation for Infinity 1262 Subs

As an experienced installed, i would go with a rockford fosgate prime 1200watt amp and wire at 1 ohm. The amp is about 220$ but fosgate is, if you ask me, the greatest amp company there is. If you can afford a bit more then i would advise possibly going up to a punch 1000watt. But as long as...

Technical problem with rear speaker amplifier!

Guys, yes car amplifiers are initially powered by a simple 12v car battery. I am talking about the guts, (I am an electrical engineer and have designed and made similar amps by hand,) Inside your amp there is a chip that simply connects and disconnects power to a large transformer or coil, on...

I suspect my amp is broken...

Hey I bought a boss "1800 watt" amplifier and I have it wored with 10awg wire connected to power and ground. realistically this amp should be able to put out maybe a few hundred and I have already acurately tested my speakers and measured wmthe wattage requirment to be 400 watts at 2 ohms which...

Technical problem with rear speaker amplifier!

All higher power car amplifiers run off of above 16v, somtimes close to a hundred volts. inside the chassis there is a step up dc-dc converter useing a 150khz occilating enhancement type n-channel mosfet to bias an inductor causing a swap of voltage and current keaping virtually equivalen...

Technical problem with rear speaker amplifier!

I am adding 2 extra rear speakers in my jeep, I have some rca cables comming from the rear speaker pre-amp outputs from the back of my pioneer stereo. My plan which works beutifully is a dc-dc boost module bringing the cars 12v up to 20 for the main amplifier. The main amp is a 2x25 watt class...
