I emailed RE and they have a dealer about an hour drive away. I think I'm going to go there and listen to the SE and the RE's. See which would better suite my taste. Right now i'm leaning towards the 8's, but I'll just have to wait and see.

Okay say I go with the 2 RE 8's and give the 200 RMS each in a ported box. How much increase in output would they have over my sealed Type R 10"? Just curious if it is worth the upgrade.

With 2 (2 ohm + 2 ohm) you can wire at either 2 ohm or 8 ohm on a mono amp. With 2 (4 ohm + 4 ohm) you can wire at 1 ohm or 4 ohm on a mono amp. You could also go with a 2 channel amp. It really depends on what you want to do. This might be helpful...

Are you talking about the trim ring that goes around the perimeter of the head unit, so you can't see the DIN sleeve and stuff? If so, these just pop right on. They can be a little tight sometimes, but it will eventually go on.
