Amp has power and is not in protection, subs don't hit

Well, I feel like an idiot. I just pulled back the box today and from the angle I usually see it, you can't see if the wires are attached to the box. Well, the positive wire got disconnected -____-. So all is good now and put in the new fuses. Thanks for all your help everyone! And by the...

Amp has power and is not in protection, subs don't hit

Check my amp as in do what? All my connections are secure and I turned the gain back down to where it was before this problem. The amp is getting power but not going into Protection mode. I can't really do anything right now because I don't have any fuses for the amp so I will try to figure...

Amp has power and is not in protection, subs don't hit

I checked all fuses except the 2 small ones going into the amp. While trying to remove those, they cracked. So not sure on the condition of those. How exactly do I check the coils on the subs? I pressed in the middle of both and didn't hear any screeching or scratchy noise.   ----------...

Amp has power and is not in protection, subs don't hit

This morning I decided to turn up my gain a tiny bit, and the subs hit harder and sounded clean. I just took a ride around the block and all of a sudden on a heavy bass song, the subs cut out at my normal-high listening volume. I checked all the wiring and all looks good and removed the - on my...

    Wiring 2 JBL GT5 12's and a JBL BPX500.1 Amp

Great info thank you. Unfortunately, this morining I decided to turn up my gain a tiny bit, and the subs hit harder and sounded clean. I just took a ride around the block and all of a sudden on a heavy bass song, the subs cut out at my normal-high listening volume. I checked all the wiring...

Oh and by the way, I have 8 gauge power and ground and the previous owner had a 2nd battery in the trunk for these subs with amp.

Cheap wiring causing subs not to hit?

How exactly would I go about wiring my 2 SVC 10" subs down to 2 ohms final impedance on my mono amp that has two outputs? I think I already have the impedance at 2 ohms. Just want to make sure. Oh and the fuse in the amp looks good as does the one at the battery.

Cheap wiring causing subs not to hit?

Going out tomorrow to get new spade terminals so I can test the new Home Depot 4gauge. If this doesn't fix the problem, does it have to be the amp? I really hope not. I already went through an old Audiobahn amp that I was a real big fan of until I blew the outputs by having a shi**y ground...

Cheap wiring causing subs not to hit?

Yep checked that today everything was tight. I think I've mentioned already that my amp is a mono block and has two speaker outputs on the back. I had them individually wired to the amp like + on sub to + on amp, - on sub to - on amp. But today I decided to run it in parallel to see if that...

Cheap wiring causing subs not to hit?

After looking at the details on Crutchfield about my amp, it says: Power Indicator: When the amplifier is turned on, the power indicator lights up. This indicator turns off with the amplifier and will turn off if the amplifier goes into protect mode. Protection circuitry: The amplifier...

Cheap wiring causing subs not to hit?

Well, subs are silence again. I've tried so many different things today I honestly couldn't tell you all the variations I've done! So it seems like if I have my Gain a little over half, the subs hit but are pretty quiet. If I turn up the volume to about 30 out of 50, they will go completely...

Cheap wiring causing subs not to hit?

Well a little update! Changed my RCA's. Unmounted the amp from the back of the box to the back of the seat. And was able to get sound out of the subs to be able to set the gain lower the max! All is working well at the moment!! I will post back if anything changes, so please don't delete...
