Haha right on, thanks a bunch

    SA-8 impedance

You sure that's right though? Every result I got on google that mentioned that was overrun with people saying you needed an o-scope and resistors and other stuff, and I'm just trying to get some clarification.

    SA-8 impedance

I recently got a SA-8 sub from a buddy of mine because he found something bigger, but he didn't know what the ohms were on the voice coil. I know it can be either D2 or D4, but I'm wondering if there are some distinguishing features that I can use to figure out which of the two it is? Are there...

I don't know if this is the right place, but I'm buying my first sub!

My trunk is big enough for probably two 12s, maybe even two 15s (in which case my trunk would BE the two 15s haha). But from reading around on a bunch of forums it seems that the general consensus is that a 10 will reach its loudest in a sealed, ~.75 ft^3 box, whereas a 12 will achieve its peak...

Ok, I think I've decided on the Obsidian Audio, now it's just between the 12" and the 15". If I were to put them in their optimal enclosures, what would be the difference in sound? If it's not noticeably louder or harder-hitting, I'd rather go with the cheaper 12" option. Edit: double-post, sorry.

I think I like the Skar 12", the SA-12, and the Obsidian Audio 12" and 15" Very affordable at $158 for 15"? Yessiree. I'll look at more reviews of each and then probably go for one of them. Is the 15" Obsidian worth the extra $20 over the 12"? And if that's not worth it, is the SA-12 or Skar...

Yeah I know it's not the best car for a single sub, but I figure if I make the conditions inside the car as close to perfect as I can (right size box, right size/depth port if it's a 12, etc...) it might cancel out the deficiencies, or at least make it less noticeable I'm not worried about it...

Sorry silver, my amp is only rated for 4 ohm stable so 4 ohm DVC doesn't quite cut it.

I'm planning on building the enclosure myself with MDF, or taking it to Stereo Advantage and having them build me one for ~$50.

I'm trying to get a 10" in a sealed box or 12" in a ported box (will get correct box after the sub is decided on) for my 06 Altima. The good part is I already have a free amp which my cousin gifted me, a Rockford Fosgate 500a2. It's 500W RMS at 4 ohms, so I'd need either a 500W or 600W RMS sub...
