Why not try to find some ScanSpeak Illuminator Drivers. Not sure on the price of those but they are a step up from the rev's.

One of the best. Very good marriage with Focal components. Wide stage when amp gets hot. Yes need a fan but only if you use it bridge or for a 2 ohm operation. Cannot pass a good deal on those.

Some amps have distinct sound to them: Usually (don't flame me), Tube and Class A amps have a warm sound to it - by warm I mean open, envelopping kind of sound. Hard to explain but try to listen to some Focal speakers paired with some Audison VRx series. Then ask to pair the same Focal speakers...
