My MTX Thunder 6500d stopped working a few years ago, and today I decided to pull it outta the closet and open it up.. here is what I found: I found burn marks around the black thing in the bottom right corner.. anybody know what that is, and if I can buy a new one and solder it in?

Im not too crazy about mtx, my Thunder6500d randomly quit working on me on day a few years ago so Im not too sure about mtx amps now

Also, I can wire the sub for a 4 ohm, or a 1 ohm load.

Subs specs are: 250w rms, dual 4 ohm coils. Looking for something less than $200

I just bought an AA Assassin 10" for my single cab 95 f150. On the website it says this sub is good in small ported boxes, but Im not all that confident that I could build a good ported box, especially in the area I have to fit this thing. Here is the design I came up with, it's not to scale...

No prob, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Ill try looking around at some tweeter specs and see if I can come up with something.

My bad, I missed that. The crossover frequency is 2600Hz, and it's a 4 ohm tweeter. Any suggestions for a good tweeter that would match that? I listen to mostly rock, and I want something that's not too harsh.
