    Rainbow Germanium warranty?

Just contacted Rainbow via e-mail....they told me to contact the dealer from which I purchased the speakers. Anyone know how to contact 6spdcoupe? His inbox for PM's is full.

    Rainbow Germanium warranty?

A few years back I purchased a set of germanium components from a member here. One of the tweeters has been crackly for a while and it's just too annoying now to not look into repair/replacement. I tried to PM that member but it said the mailbox was full, so I assume they are not members here...

    Heat issue, speaker or amp?

See my sig for list of components in the install. On hot days when I get in the car, my passenger front speaker, not sure if it's the mid or tweeter, is crackling. I never play the system hard, and it's been this way for a bout 1 year (since installing the Germaniums) So...is it heat in the...

    High Heat Crackling?

Ok, so for the past few afternoons when coming out to my car after work the car is very hot. When I turn on the car I am getting crackling in the sound. Overnight the car cools and is fine for my morning commute. Anyone else ever had this problem?

Boy did I have a problem with my Germ's...

Yeah, us Audi guys are out there. Boy what a car. It was quiet before the sound deadening, but man, now it's even better. Those Germ's screaming at you while still looking factory stock is PERFECT.

Boy did I have a problem with my Germ's...

Not at the moment. For the next year I'm probably content. Been enough of a headache finding time to complete this project let alone venturing further. I'm sure at some point I will though. Upgraditis is a killer

Boy did I have a problem with my Germ's...

A bit of a long story. A few weeks ago I installed half of my new Germaniums in the passenger door. Made a pair 1/2" MDF rings, glued then together together, and used silicone caulk and non hardening modeling clay to deaden/seal the speaker to the door. SecondSkin sound deadening on the...

What's so great about bi-amping passive components?

Thanks guys. For now I'm going to just bridge the amp to get 100x2, but when I have the door panels off, I will look at how truly difficult it is to get a wire past the connector. If I can manage, I will go ahead and run the wires and mount the crossovers in the trunk, and not on the door...

What's so great about bi-amping passive components?

Picked up a pair of Germaniums and was informed it would be better to bi-amp them. Problem is running new wires into the doors in the Audi is...lets just say not easy. The connectors they already have in place are big and full, let alone trying to sneak 4 wires into it or past it. Is...

    Design HELP! Need Trunk Space

If you really want SQ with small space requirements check out Image Dynamics IDQ. Highly regarded as an SQ sub, with only .55 cubic feet of sealed airspace neded and 300+ watts to drive them. If you do fiberglass for an enclosure you can squeeze that sub into a corner of the trunk/hatch and...

Hertz HSK 163 or Rainbow Germs?

Hold on now, I didn't mean it like that. What I am saying is that sometimes people expect that simply by changing speakers the difference will be a night and day improvement. While sometimes it can, it can also be very disappointing when you go to a really nice set and don't get what you...

To Polyfill or not to Polyfill, that is the question?

Nice reply. I see you have nothing better to do than reply with useless chatter to up your post count or help you feel smarter

To Polyfill or not to Polyfill, that is the question?

Say you build a fiberglass enclosure exact to subwoofer specs, do you still place polyfill in the box? Usually people say to use polyfill to make a box appear bigger to a sub....but this is not the case for me. Will the polyfill eliminate standing waves? EDIT: Read up and saw standign waves in...

Hertz HSK 163 or Rainbow Germs?

Have you deadened the doors of the vehicle? Using MDF mounts for the speakers or stock plastic? If you are going to a GOOD speaker, you want to make sure you do everything to plan for great sound, not just expect a speaker to fix it.
