i first found out about it on the mp3car.com forums. the cool thing is that it was free. the bad thing is that it's no longer supported, so i think the site that had it available for download no longer exists. but check out those forums. there are a ton of free interfaces for download.

kenwood makes a double-din all-in-one unit: kenwood ddx7015 it's nice, but pricey.

this is most likely true, but you would probably want some kind of voltage regulator if you do that.

i can't see any reason why it shouldn't work. the only thing i can think of is that using a ps2 to watch dvd's can be somewhat of a pain. i used mine for a while as a dvd player, even got the remote and everything. but it just doesn't have the features and ease of use that a dedicated dvd player...
