I went to a car audio shop and they too said it was the factory amp . . . is it a simple task to bypass the amp? it's werid though. . . i had it sitting in my dash (just playin treble, as always) and it kicked on the amp then died again . . sucks

No . . I Don't think so . . . I can go right around, take off the harness and just use the male plugs from the dash (with no added harness) and hook up my stock radio, and everything sounds fine. It's when I hook up my Pioneer does my sound fail . .

I just replaced a stolen head unit with a new Pioneer . . used the same harness then used another brand new harness, and for some reason, the only speakers wanting to work (even make a sound) are the front tweeters (Only playing treble). I can have my rear speakers play, but it's only treble . ...

Most of the newer end pioneer HU's have Ipod and USB capablities. I would recommend the 6900ub or the p690ub
