    A quick question passive crossovers

My question is, can a "bad" crossover cause a static or whining noise to come out of the speakers?

Have you done "The big three"?  If not, it's likely to fix your problem.

    Need help with crossovers

Alright thank you for the help.

    New install subs shutting off.

In the first post you said "the subs are 4 ohms" and in the second "The woofers are wired to present a 4Ωload.". So how much impedance does each sobwoofer have?  If it's 4 ohms for each, you cant possibly connect them to have 4 in total.

    Need help with crossovers

Ah, I see. One more question. How does the power rating work in such case? How much power does each speaker get, since there are two speakers on one channel?

    Need help with crossovers

So I recently bought coal speakers. It contained 2 mids, 2 tweeters (all 4 60W RMS at 4 ohms) and 2 crossovers. I wanted to connect those to my amp, which gives 90W RMS at 4 ohms to 4 channels. When buying these I thought I could connect each speaker to seperate channel. However the crossovers...

    Connecting tweeters to amp

So I have already connected 2 original and 2 new mid-range speakers in parallel and a subwoofer on a different channel to my amplifier. I want to connect two more tweeters to the same channels as the other speakers. As I calculated, if I connected the tweeters in parallel to the other speakers...

Can an amp be blown by 21 volts?

The voltmeter was faulty. Changed the battery and everything is fine now. Thanks for the help. Feel so dumb right now...

Can an amp be blown by 21 volts?

My bad about the part with the engine off. The battery puts out 17 volts, not the alternator. I'll try using another multimeter, just as you suggested.

Can an amp be blown by 21 volts?

So my car's alternator seems to be broken and it puts out around 17 volts when the engine is shut down, and around 21v when it's on. My question is, would it be enough to blow a car amp? Thanks in advance.
