I have no idea on the amp part, but personally I would go with a 80a fuse that comes with a wiring kit personally, I dunno if it'd even work on your fuse panel...but just incase you upgrade etc...

Well I had that exact same problem, even the bumping noise coming from the sub, disconnected the rca's and it still did it, I found out my ground was loose, so I re-ran the ground and it all worked out, maybe you can do the same, good luck

And also, the best box for you would be a good sealed, you'd just need to figure out the spec's you need by first choosing a sub, which I don't know much about the SQ area but good luck!!

2 kicker cvr 15"s would work, 500 rms and can get hella loud and dont cost alot, what kinda car u workin with? the subs u can probably find for like 120 shipped on ebay brand new from people with good feedback etc..just tryin to let ya know a good deal on new subs incase youd like that a lil...
