I have the 8601 and love it. I can run it hard and it never gets warm. I remember back in the late 80's you could take it easy on a Punch 45 and still cook meat on it!

Wire the sub to 1 ohm and put a Pioneer GM-D8601 on it. I got the amp for $130 and it sounds great. I have it on a 10" Type R and have been beating it for a while and no problems. Sounds good to me and was kinda cheap.

I thought EVERYBODY knew that you had to turn the stereo off before opening or closing the doors. Especially when you open the doors. If you open them too fast, the vacuum can invert the cone, causing the voice coils to be fully extended. When that happens, BAM!!! Instant short in the coil...

Shows 11.4" on a 3" port. How does one know which is best, 3 or 4?

What it is, I have a 10" Type R sealed. I was wanting to try a ported enclosure but I'm kinda lost on finding dimensions. I looked at the PSP calculator and came up with a 2" port roughly 5" long. This is a flared port. Does this sound right? It is tuned at 35 Hz. Thanks for your help!

How does one go about getting the deminsions for a round port?

Whatever happened to the round ports? I understand that technology has advanced and all, but the round porst were all I used to see. Now the slot type ports are the norm. Are they more efficient than the round ones?
