i don't believe that the headunit is the most common cause of Alternator whine. The chances of alternator whine will depend greatly on your installation, where you run your wires and so on.

Pioneer Premier Dex-P1R is what I'm currently still using. Pioneer Premier Dex-P98R is what I used to have. I also had various Pioneer Premier cassette decks before that. I love me some Pioneer if you haven't noticed.
