    set up

tell me what u think. for my system, im going to get a pair of audiobahn subs. theyll be dual 2 ohm subs and theyll either handle 900w or 100w r.m.s. i dunno what im going with just yet. as i found out, if you want a 1 ohm system, you really need an amp thats 1/2 ohm stable and thats why im...

    overheating

id like to thank everone for the constructive criticism, not. first off im new to the forum. secondly with the exception of people like you, i find this site to be a helpful tool for car audio questions and tech support. the question was this kid had an amp and it started to smoke up one day...

    how many watts..

u cant really get more power from an amp unless u bridge it. there is no trick for getting the max power. it all has to do with e- and electricity. electricity is not a constant so one minute you can get x amount of power going to ur amp and the next minute youll get 12times x amount of power...

    does guage matter much?

make sure that the power and ground wire are the same gauge. when using bigger gauge wire, you let more energy flow into the amp. bigger gauge is better but also a pain in the *** to work with

    H/U questions

i think ur safe with the wires, i wouldnt change them. i have the same hu and it is pretty good. i think it could be better but you get what you pay for. my advice is not to turn it up all the way and to watch what music you play in it. if u noticed, that thing gets really hot when playing it...

    subs

when a sub says that it can handle 500w rms does this mean it can handle 500w @ 4 ohms, 500w @ 2 ohms and 500w @1 ohm? i am still confused about that. i dont want to under or over power the things. i could never get a straight answer to this question. help.

    audiobahn

got a real tough one here. i had an audiobahn aw1005x sub. it looked beautiful and was a fraction of the cost of a rf sub. i fell in love with it when i took it out of the box. i hooked it up to a 50.1 and then i got another 50.1 and hooked them together to give the sub 600w@1 ohm power rms. the...

    little help please

first, go to rockfords website cause i hear they have some good tech advice. second i found that a sealed rectangular box with subs facing away from the driver close to a wall make a really good sound. hope this helps

how big of a box do i need and what shape is preferable!

go to rf tech support, they will def help you out. if u get the wrong sized box, u could blow the speakers up or damage the amp

tell me what all think about my install

honestly, a little too basic. try to take it up a noch but thats just my opinion

4 xtr orion subs what amp ?

different sized subs require different amps, dont hook them all up together. try the orion hcca series. really, really good amps. u can do the hcca 225 for the 10"s and the 250 or 275 for the 15"s subs.

    Sony XM-2252HX

when putting the ground wirea anywhere, look for bare metal. if you find metal and its painted, you have to scrape the paint of of the metal for the ground power that you need and to ensure that it is grounded properly. make sure your ground and power wire are the same gauge. when hooking the...
