Hi, Im looking for any advice on a problem Im having with a new install. I've been installing high powered car audio equipment in my own vehicles for 20 years now but still consider myself a novice amature.
I have an Alpine CDA-117 with 4 channel signal cables running to a JL Audio XD600/6. I...
i want to use the factory grill which is already fixed to the door panel and the second grill is fixed to the actual coaxial speaker. So basically, if I want to use these speakers, I have to settle for using both grills. So do you think that will affect the speakers output of SQ?
Would the sound of a fullrange speaker such as a 6" coaxial or a 6" Midbass be affected by having "2" metal speaker grills covering it? In other words, I have an older model MB Quart coaxial that comes already mounted behind a metal grill and I want to mount it in a door behind the factory...
Has anyone installed a fairly high output sub box in a 07 thru 2010 Silverado Ext Cab? If so, I need some suggestions. I'd like to have either 2 - 10s or 1 or 2- 12s if possible. I always swear by JL Audio and would prefer them, but would still consider other high-end brands. I know JLA...

I have a PPI PC2600 amp. 150 watts x 2 or 600 x 1 (at 4 ohms). I want to use it to drive either a JL Audio 12W6 which carries a 2 ohm load, or a 10W7 which carries a 3 ohm load. Would there be any problem using this amp for the single 10W7 at 3 ohms? What about using that amp to drive a 12W6...
4 x 125 or even better, 2 x 500 watts! Yeah it's worth it! I would guess that amp sold for 800 to 1000 bucks brand new. All the PPI amps from the PCX series and before, perform way above most all of the competition.
