Get the 12ga. If you're worried about home defense, use #6's or #8's, they're not going to travel far beyond a few walls. I find that the recoil of a 12 gauge isn't hard to handle at all. You will be much happier with the 12ga.

that's why i normally walk around with a case of decent beer in a backpack so I don't have to drink natty. but sometimes I can't do that so i'm stuck with natty jco, i believe you when you say that you can drink more than 3-4.
