the Screen is the one part of the CarPC that you use every time. It's what will make or brake your install and will make or brake the use of your carpc.
or, you can just get the data package with the card used for laptops...
They make wireless routers that will take that signal and broadcast a B or G wireless signal out of it...mobile hot spot!
I use streetdeck.
regarding sound, the onboard is deffinately not the way to go. If you're just feeding it into an aux in, it's ok, but still not all that great.
a sound card can be had for cheap though, so it's not that big of a deal.

For the amp rack, we used 11 gauge steel for the end plates, needed a 4' x 4' piece of steel for that. For the tubes, we used schedule 40 steel pipe. 2 5' sections of it.
The steel cost us about $100.
For the sub enclosure, we used 3/4" MDF. A sheet...

if you're talking about a $200 hu, then sure. If you're talking about a high end head unit, then I don't think so.
remember. Anything that comes into the deck will be spit out of the deck.
If the quality going in isn't very good, then the deck can't exactly improve it.
When you do all the worl yourself the price will be much cheaper.
And I never suggested that anything was derogatory.
