In a sealed box, the power handling is typically increased so your Type Rs might be taking the power, but I would not go and try some test tones at high volumes just to see if it will clip. Its not good for the amp nor the subs, and should not be a goal of yours imo.

You are gonna have to either build it yourself or find someone who will build a custom box. Its very easy to build a sealed box and much cheaper than buying one. Just make sure it is sealed and Screwed and Glued (wood glue)

I dont see how your old system could be louder, I work at CC and that package sucks. It could be your box, I would try a vented if you really want it a little louder.
