oh yea it is, when you are clueless about car audio. Take just about every product available. they are made to be customer friendly. You go out you buy a cd player and plug headphones in and listen to the music. No, you dont buy a laser, have to match it up with the proper amplifier or whatever...

what i dont get is... if i set it low i can just crank the volume up to 32/36 on my h/u and have it sound the same as if i set it high and put the volume at 23/36. so what is the difference? also, are you not supposed to use the equalizer at all after you set the gains? because for some songs...

what the hell does a dmm do?

its 15 degrees here so its not a heat problem... the gains may be incorrect, i had no idea how to set them so i just put 3/4 of the way up

dont have dmm, and the amp has been on and off for the last 2 days after it was installed. it played a whole day then it just turned off

what does voltage problem mean?

my amp shines the red protection light for a few seconds when the car is started and then it just turns off. I have a power acoustik OV2-1200... what is the problem? the manual has stuff about the amp not switching on, protection lamp off, and amp turning off med/high volume. i dont know which...

It was screwed up after it was installed, going into protection and randomly turning off. once we hooked up the remote line to the h/u instead of the fuse box it worked. it worked for all of yesterday... then today it just turned off while i was driving and now it will just show the protection...

should i just take it all apart and bring it to best buy to install it or should i give it to them like this and have them find the problem... which would be cheaper? theres no car audio shops around my area btw

would it be damaged? i think thats the reason why the amp has been going into protection mode and randomly turning off once this is fixed, will the subs/amp have been damaged at all?
