    Blowing Fuses

Don't think so! The maker of the amp knows whats best. If your blowing fuses all of a sudden I say the amp is done. Did the amp get the power it needed? Was it really loud when it stopped?

    Installing Components

Yes you will loose sq, But its an easy install. If you have time and patience, you can aim the baffle. Mounting the tweet flush would be better than top mount. So cut a hole for the tweet as well. Custom kicks are easy to make but time consuming to make them look nice.

    best way to wire this?

What you need to know is the basics of car audio. Maybe do a google on "basics of car audio" or something like that so you can see diagrams and understand what is is that you need to do. I'm not bashing, just letting you know you should take an hr or 2 just to understand what is what.

    Was this a good decision?

remember, an amp has limits. Go past the limits and you'll send a square wave to the woofer/speaker(clipping) and that aint pretty! if you hear a bad sound from the speaker then remember how loud it was and Never go that loud again!! Its much better to have more amp(headroom) than more speaker.

    Installing Components

you can use the screws that hold the speaker to the door. of coarse you have to cut a hole in the plate for the mid and use the screws provided with the mid to mount it to the plate.

    Installing Components

If its a stick shift its more tricky to make kick panels. I never spend big bucks on pre- fabed kicks. I usually make them myself for about $40 of material. What location is the stock 6 by 8's? I think that they are in the doors. Are they mid or lower door? If they aRE lower that would be...

    Was this a good decision?

The only thing is the tweet might use a different x-o point. Lets just say your old comps were; mid 80-3000htz, tweet3000-20k, if your new tweet is x-o at a higher point...say 4k, there will be gap and you'll loose a bit. If the x-o point is lower...say 2k, then both speakers are playing the...

    Installing Components

To Make a plate just remove the old speaker, place it face down on 1/4''(or whatever thickness fits) mdf and trace around it with a pen/pencil. cut it out. Then use that to mount your mid/tweet. When it comes to the right location for your speakers. Try to keep them as far away from your ear as...

    Was this a good decision?

Sounds ODD to me that you're blowing things up!! Subs don't just die and tweets don't just pop!! I think that the install needs to be considered as a possible fault. I've had so many speakers over the last 20 yrs and never blew one. Please check all wiring and x-overs. If it were me, I'd re-wire...
