I only had it installed roughly a week, had it for about 3 weeks prior waiting for other stuff to arrive. There is nothing wrong with the unit. It is in flawless condition.

Retail is $120. You can get them for ~$70 new.

They advertise it to boost the low end frequencies as you turn up the volume because most OEM systems lower bass automatically as volume goes up. It does work, let me tell you that. Has built in subsonic and low pass filters as well for the sub channel.

Did a little troubleshooting today to isolate equipment. Swapped the my 6 1/2's to the rear section of the amp, same problem. So, I doubt it's the amp. Slaved in new, shielded, RCA's and same problem. Doubt it's the RCAs. Moved the RCAs to the rear output connection of the HU; same problem...

That's interesting to hear. I will most likely not be using the MS-8 as an amp if I do go that route though. For some reason, I keep leaning towards the Alpine PXE-H660. I read that the 800 is coming out in April though. Anybody know if there is anything different with this unit?
