Like Famous said, I think you are setting your gains wrong. Set your gains with the car turned on (engine running) that way you are giving it 14v.

I'm planning to install another amp for a sub. Anyone know if there is a distribution block that will allow me to run both power and ground using the same block? One that's fused would be better. Using 4awg wire.

I think we need to ask "Are you installing this yourself?" BTW I have that exact alpine amp and it'll most likely do more than rated as alpine usually give you a birth sheet.
