fixed it, problem was the signal sensing, for whatever reason it wasnt going off with the car, just ran a remote wire now and its fine. Thanks for the suggestion

fixt, used a hard wire for remote instead of the signal sensing...basically, the amp wasnt going off with the car, and seemed to just release all the vehicles stored power into the sub.....basically it got louder than i could get it with my h/u except on test tunes

also posted in the electrical forum for extra eyes. but the problem. ok, just started, and not always, but a majority of the time, when i turn off my car, the sub's spl seems to build and just take off to an extreme ammount with the car off. Whats the deal? The amp is using the signal sensing...

ok......lets see...turn on lead is signal sensing. should i switch to the remote? any tests to figure if the amp is toast?

not asking which sub, but asking if it would be too little amp to run the 8's. Getting rid of the 12w3 in hopes of reclaiming space for my mtn bike. Both 8's will be in separate sealed enclsures fabricated to run over the rear wheel wells in my suv. dual vc wired at overall 4ohm........250/1...

ok, factory jbl amp pushes a factory component set rated 2ohm 35 watts. Well, i have blown one of the speakers, replaced with cdt coax, but its 4 ohm, because i had trouble finding 2 ohm speakers. So, question is, am I going to damage the amp by changing the impedence, I know I will be getting...

ok, stock speakers in my land cruiser are labeled 2 ohm, 30w. So, question. if I were to replace the stock head unity with a 9833, running to the factory toyota amp, could i run 4 ohm 60w speakers in their place? or would i be better off bypassing the stock amp and running off head unit power...
